Cloud-based digitalization and its potential

In the report “Digital Economy and Society Index, 2020“. Poland ranked 23rd among the 28 EU member states. This means that our country is one of the less digitally advanced countries in the Union. Among the areas that need significant improvement is the integration of digital technology, where Poland ranks 25th. Speaking of digitalization, mention should be made of cloud technology, which is gaining more and more in the eyes of Polish entrepreneurs.

Damian Przybyl, Director of Digital Advisory at Cloudity, will talk about the potential of cloud technologies and the process of implementing digital solutions.

What kind of deployment results can companies expect?

We know that the potential inherent in digitization is huge. Consulting firm Capgemini, in one of its publications, gives the example of Monzo, a bank operating in the UK. “It has more than half a million customers, was created from scratch on the cloud […] and its operations are handled by just five employees.”

The question of what benefits a company can work out is, of course, very individual. It depends on the degree of technological advancement and the flexibility of the organization in terms of implementing changes.

How does Cloudity support companies in the digitization process?

Above all, we want to make sure that future solutions maximize the business impact and meet the goals the client has set for itself. Therefore, as a first step, we get to know the client’s business model so that we can best understand the client’s needs and the challenges they face on a daily basis.

In the second step, we literally take on the role of our client’s employees and, with the help of the created prototype solution, simulate the implementation of daily activities using modern tools. When the final vision is refined, we design and implement the target solution. After the implementation is complete, we support the client in the process of change management in the organization to make sure that employees use the full potential of the implemented solutions.

What companies are implementing your solutions?

At Cloudity, we have conducted more than 600 implementations for clients from 26 countries. We support both companies looking to scale their business and those looking to improve their current operating model. The solution has no limitations on the scale or industry in which the company operates.

For example – we carried out an operations optimization project for a Polish carrier with a fleet of over 300 vehicles operating in 28 countries. Another example is a multinational company providing anti-virus software, where we provided a solution to support the valuation process.

What is meant by “cloud technology”?

Cloud solutions, along with things like Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things and Blockchain, are a technology that makes up the fourth industrial revolution. The technology consists in providing the user with solutions from IT areas, i.e. CRM, campaign engines, client portals, business applications from the level of a web browser, without the need to install expensive solutions that require infrastructure facilities. The solutions can be used in virtually all areas of a company’s operations, i.e. sales, marketing or operations.

Why should companies be interested in cloud technologies?

Above all, these solutions enable the organization to continuously develop its business, while minimizing the effort to implement business concepts. Given the pace of market change, rapid and effective implementations (time-to-market) are the basis for building a competitive advantage. The challenge is to keep up with change, while effectively maintaining continuity of ongoing operations.

Another argument is the reduction of IT infrastructure costs. Thanks to digitalization, the company does not have to develop and maintain an expensive infrastructure supporting an increasing number of systems, applications and interfaces. Instead, there is a settlement in a licensing model, which can be flexibly shaped according to current needs.

Should only IT professionals be interested in cloud technology?

The main idea behind the solution provided is to support business development. Therefore, business units are the biggest beneficiaries of such implementations.

From the point of view of IT managers, in addition to the aspect of not having to develop infrastructure, the organization gets a flexible tool for managing business processes. Since the configuration of the system is done on the side of the administrator who understands the business, the introduction of changes is done quickly and according to the business need.

We mentioned that digitalization is not only cloud technology. What technologies does Cloudity deal with?

At Cloudity, we support a comprehensive digitization process. It includes modern technologies such as cloud solutions, artificial intelligence, Machine Learning and Internet of Things. We also have a team specializing in Business Intelligence and Data Science. Our services involve combining the various technologies to provide the customer with the best possible solution.

If a company is thinking about digitizing…

…then you are cordially invited to contact Cloudity. During the meeting we will present examples of implemented solutions and together we will estimate which areas in a given company have the greatest potential for digitization.

In addition, I invite you to events organized by Cloudity – panel discussions or conferences, during which we focus on problems specific to particular industries and sectors. I encourage you to familiarize yourself with our offer!
